How To Start A Phred Day Right:

Music at the Moment: Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Gold Lion (Could Karen O be any more Siouxsie Sioux 2.0?)

This was all I needed to see to set the great tone of my day!

All you Prince naysayers can kiss my ass.

The Greatest Bumper Sticker

Don't get me wrong, I adore the Mutant Fish and the Darwin fish and especially the Cthuluhu fish, but this one is out of this world. I'll be ordering it and, with John's permission, placing this on our car. It'll be our first Bumper Sticker!

Wow! W.o.W. *IS* Good For Something!

The Fabulous Miss S sent me this today. I nearly peed. Thank you Miss S!!!

Don't Let Worries Kill You! Let The Church Help!

If anyone knows Bryan and I, they know we have this church sign hobby. We love them all: Really clever ones, stupid ones, ones that make us just look at each other and go WTF????

Well, I found the site for us!

Church Sign Generator is hours of good christian family fun for Bryan and I! The best part is the section of real church signs. I bet they don't have the most unique one i've ever seen. It was on a some little church in town right after a barge actually hit the Pensacola bay Bridge back in the early 90s (I think it was early 90s at least). The sign was soooo bad, but it stuck in my head and made me laugh so hard it has been with me ever since.

"Satan Breaks Hearts Like The Barge Broke The Bridge!"

Just add a southern drawl as you read it aloud and I swear you can feel your brain dump a few points right out your ear.
My Aunt just sent this to me and blew me away. I had to share. Wow..just wow!

3.21 = 3121

Music at the Moment - Prince - "Love"...again and again and again

YAY!!! New Prince Day!!!!

Prince - 3121

Tracks

1) 3121 - A Laid back gritty phunkphest reminiscent to me of "RockHard In A Funky Place". A Nice start for this CD.
Phred Phunk Phactor - 6 out of 10

2) Lolita - Pure T Phunk. This had me dancing in my driver's seat as I left the store after picking up the CD. With a definite old Prince flavor this track has serious radio readiness. Nothing like Prince keyboards. Mmmmmmmmmmm.
Phred Phunk Phactor - 9 out of 10

3) Te Amo Corazón - First release, this is an excellent mid-tempo Prince tune. Sultry, sensual and a really good hip swayer. Love the flute in this. The video, directed by Salma Hayek, is gorgeous.
Phred Phunk Phactor - 6 out of 10

4) Black Sweat - Second release, this is a groove down back. A definite tune for recapturing a lot of the strayed R&B/Hip Hop crowd. Damn good for dancing.
Phred Phunk Phactor - 7 out of 10

5) Incense And Candles - Hell Yes! You know Prince songs that are good for leading up to the horizontal hustle? This is one. Prince makes using a vocoder cool again.
Phred Phunk Phactor - 8 out of 10

6) Love - This is THE jam. Hands down. Phred's nbumber one fave song on this CD. I would SO perform this with Snowy. It gives me a "Pheremone" feel. This is hardcore vintage Prince phunk at its grooviest. Good radio possibility.
Phred Phunk Phactor - 11 out of 10

7) Satisfied - Steamy dance floor in a ceiling fan-cooled bar. Live band and abandoned cold drinks on their tables each sweating like the dancers. Hip grinding blues. Yeah daddy-o *snap snap snap*
Phred Phunk Phactor - 6

8) Fury - This was performed on SNL and had me actually up and dancing. This is another that's very radio friendly. Love this song. Prince guitar makes me move.
Phred Phunk Phactor - 9

9) The Word - Prince has been doing the religious undertone thing for-EV-ah, so I don't know why suddenly people are noticing it. Look at "The Cross". That is one of the best songs off Sign O The Times and a popular favorite among fans. This one is no different. This one promises a good message without the cram-jesus-down-your-throat redundancy of most religious music as well as catchy guitars jams and a dancey beat. No dissapointment here, it delivers.
Phred Phunk Phactor - 8

10) Beautiful, Loved and Blessed - This is the Támar vehicle and while still a great song, not one of my favorites. Tamar is a great singer, wonderful dancer and an all-around talented beauty. I sort of get a Karyn White meets Prince feel from this track. I'll definitely be checking out Támar's CD when it drops on May 2nd.
Phred Phunk Phactor - 6

11) The Dance - This is a really cool song. It's sort of mysterious with a very slight darker flavor in the beginning and then opens up to a flourish of great piano and assorted intruments. Pieces of It take me back to some of my favorite tracks from Around The World in A Day.
Phred Phunk Phactor - 6

12) Get On The Boat - A jazzy, phull-phlavored joint that shines with the presence of the one and only Sheila E. on percussion. And, of course, with Miss Escovedo there's plenty of latin flair. An excellent bookend with 3121 to close up the CD.
Phred Phunk Phactor - 6

It's a good day. *fulfilled sigh*

Phull Day

Music at the Moment: Kelly Clarkson - Walk Away

Today I joined a Gym, scheduled a hair cut and registered for school.

Tomorrow I meet with a personal trainer to get a training program, get my hair cut and continue with my financial aid applications.

If all goes well, I will be in school for Video Game Art and Design by april 12th and already on the way to burning off the rest of this weight and building muscle.

Hopefully by 2010 I'll rule the world.

Okay...

I am officially getting excited.

X-Men: The Last Stand

I PRAY it's as every bit good as the trailers.

Wear Plenty Of Sunscreen

You'll need the UV protection.

So we saw Ultraviolet. It pains me to tear this movie to shreds, so I'll point out the good points and simply rate it.

Milla Jovovich is hot hot hot. Rarely is she not hottacious.
She looks SO cool in her outfits. I really liked the costuming.
Some of the visuals were really great.
Nice music.

Phred Phun Phactor: Milla Is Hot

*********

Watched The Corpse Bride, very cute and worth the watch.

Phred Phun Phactor: 5

*********

Also recently watched The Cave. This movie really wasn't as awful as I'd expected. Yes, it was quite formulaic and rather predictable, but in no way the train wreck horror of a Sci-Fi Original movie.

Phred Phun Phactor: 3

I think this is a completely unfair assessment. I want to know where my other 4% is dammit. I guess I need to go get arrested and destroy a small country. Hmm, small country...I wonder if Kittums would count.
